Now that Cablevision customers have the ability to stream on the computer, I think more good will be said about the Optimum app. The only thing that I’m not sure I like is that all of their apps need to be connected to a home network in order to stream. I am familiar with being able to stream outside of my house since I have been using Dish Online for quite some time on my laptop. It lets me watch live TV and stream recorded shows from my DVR to my laptop. I like that I’m not required to be at home just to watch TV. A week ago, a few co-workers and I at Dish watched the latest Saturday Night Live episode. It was nice being able to catch up on my shows without having to be at home. If Cablevision added streaming away from home, I think it would be a lot better.
ReplyDeleteI am sure the Cablevision app on Macs and Windows PC will definitely be downloaded by several customers. What they have is a good app, but it could be better. The streaming service I have through Dish with the Dish Remote Access app can be taken out of the house. I can watch live TV from wherever I can get a 3G or Wi-Fi connection. A co-worker at Dish also told me I could access and control all my DVR functions from the DRA app. I take my laptop or iPad with me when I am traveling with the kids and it makes the trip so much easier because they stayed entertained with this app. The app through Dish is something that Cablevision should definitely aim for.
