NEW HAVEN, Conn. ? The Yale gymnastics team will begin its 2013 campaign on Saturday with a tri-meet hosted by Rutgers.? In addition to the Scarlet Knights, Yale will also be facing off against the University of Alaska-Anchorage.
Though Yale did not face either of these teams during the 2012 season, the juniors and seniors on the squad encountered Rutgers three times during 2011, falling short each time.? The Bulldogs, led by seniors Lindsay Andsager, Tara Feld and Stephanie Goldstein, will look to avenge those losses on Saturday and to get the 2013 season off to a winning start.?
This meet will be the second of the season for both Alaska-Anchorage and Rutgers. Alaska-Anchorage will compete in its first meet this Thursday against Bridgeport.? Rutgers opened its season last Sunday with a 194.850-192.800 loss against New Hampshire.? The Bulldogs are scheduled to face off against UNH twice later this year. ??
This meet will mark the Yale debut of freshman Brittney Sooksengdao.
The meet begins at 1 p.m.
