Five days a week, the Golden Circle Nutrition Center delivers lunch to homebound citizens.
Five days a week volunteers ? mainly from local churches ? perform these deliveries.
On Wednesday March 21, one of these volunteers was Flora?s Mayor Bob Tackitt. The Mayor has done this for a number of years driven and supervised by Barb Tackitt.
Having received his instructions and route from Golden Circle Staff, he loaded up his vehicle and away they went through the West side of Flora delivering a hot lunch, dessert and milk to seniors who might otherwise not receive a hot meal today.
The other two routes were covered by members of St. Stephens Catholic Church whose members had committed to make these deliveries throughout the month of March.
Many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Tackitt and all the other volunteers who participate in this very worthwhile civic endeavor.
