Author: Amy Adams ?// ?Category: Machine codeI mean if you had a morse code machine (even in this day and age) and knew morse code, how exactly would you transmit? Thanks.
There are things that you may describe as "machines" that
generate code (CW) to be transmitted, usually via amateur radio,
but they have never been as popular as straight or iambic keys.
[Back in the 1970s or so, Heathkit offered a gadget
that used a computer-style keyboard.]
MFJ sells "code readers" that show received CW messages on an LCD display.
Radio amateurs still use CW often, and although it is no longer
a requirement for someone who wants to obtain an amateur radio license,
CW is actually becoming more popular.
Get a shortwave radio or communications receiver that has a BFO
or a dedicated CW reception mode, and listen to the lower ranges
of frequencies on any of the HF amateur bands.
You?ll hear at least some CW every day.
