Lewis-Clark State (42-13) moves on to play either LSU-Shreveport or Rogers State Monday afternoon, while the Coyotes season comes to a close at 41-21.
All four Warrior first-inning runs were unearned with two outs. Alfonso Casillas hit a hot-shot through first-baseman Jesse Dodd, ruled an error, to score Kyle Knigge. Miller's tenth homer of the season followed, pushing the Warriors lead to 4-0.
Casillas struck again in the third, singling home Knigge to make it 5-0.
After stranding a pair of runners in the third inning, The Yotes only run crossed in the fifth. Andrew Sewell was hit by a pitch and Izaac Garsez walked before Jarel Lewis singled to score Sewell ? but Tanner Hodges grounded out to end the threat.
Pitcher Todd Griffiths kept College of Idaho in the game, getting 12 ground ball outs ? inducing four double play balls which ended the fourth, seventh, eighth, and ninth innings. The senior did not walk a man and struck out five.
Griffiths was one of eight seniors who played their final game as Coyotes. Sewell, Ward, Hodges, Garsez, Harris, Joshua Orr and Chad Yeggy completed their collegiate baseball careers Saturday.
The C of I had a final chance in the ninth, after singles from Jeffrey Harris and Tyler Andazola and a walk to Brett Ward loaded the bases with one out. However, Zach Fabricius struck out followed by a Garsez fly out to deep left-center to end the game.
