A great way t spend a little time with your family, have some fun, and maybe through in a lesson is tho have Culture Night. Culture Night is very easy and exposes your children to all the different cultures and peoples of the world. First thing you need to do is to choose a culture to be that night?s theme. My suggestion would be to start within your own heritage. My children are of Mexican, French, Native American, and Irish heritage. Since the Mexican culture plays such a huge role in our everyday lives we started with French and then went on from there. Last week we did the Japanese culture.
Decide how you want to learn about the culture. We cook authentic food from the culture, watch movies in that language, check out websites about the culture and so forth. It is completely up to you and there is no wrong or right way to do it. that is what makes this all so much fun. You can dress up like the people of the culture, attempt to learn the language (or just a few words), the possibilities are endless.
