Zahav Introduces 10-Course Tasting Menu By Michael Solomonov ...

We have a soft spot in our hearts here at Phoodie for Zahav and all things Solomonov, so it is with happiness that we bring you this news: Beginning September 1st, Zahav will debut The Kitchen Counter, ?a four-seat marble counter overlooking his kitchen where guests can watch the chefs prepare a 10-course menu of ambitious, innovative plates every Friday and Saturday night.?

The counter will accept only one seating per night, at 7:30PM, and each weekend will have new food and drink offerings so no one meal is the same. The cost? For $90 per person, guests can enjoy Solomonov?s personally cooked Four Bells-quality cuisine, with an optional $50 cocktail/wine pairing. Here?s how to get a seat at the counter:

Guests who are interested in reserving a seat at The Kitchen Counter should email counter[at]zahavrestaurant.[dot]com at noon on the first of the month for the following month (i.e. guests hoping for weekends in September should email 8/1). Requests must include the preferred date to dine and number of guests (two or four). The restaurant will contact all interested parties on a first-come, first-served basis to book all the month?s seats. Anyone submitting a request will receive a response within 48 hours.

Guests who secure a reservation will be asked at that time about dietary restrictions, and will also be required to pay for the meal in advance with a credit card. Any cancellations 72 hours in advance of the dinner and earlier will be refunded with a Zahav gift card in the amount of the dinner; cancellations within 72 hours of the reservation will forfeit the cost.?

Got it? Good. So maybe draft that email now and hold on until noon on the 1st to hit send. You wouldn?t want to miss out on the chance for one of the city?s best chefs to personally cook you a meal right? Right?
